Japan Sept core machinery orders fall 4.6% m/m

- Japan's core machinery orders fell 4.6% in September from the previous month, government data showed on Wednesday, compared with growth of 0.7% expected by economists in a Reuters poll.

Compared with a year earlier, core orders, a highly volatile data series regarded as a leading indicator of capital spending in the coming six to months, grew 2.9%, the Cabinet Office data found.

The government cut its assessment of machinery orders, saying their pickup movement is stalling.
