CBOT soybeans end up as Russian missile reports rattle markets


- Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures soybean futures finished stronger on Tuesday as reports of Russian missiles in Poland fueled worries about rising political tensions in the region, traders said.

  • CBOT January soybean futures SF3 rose 16-3/4 cents to settle at $14.57-1/4 a bushel.

  • CBOT December soyoil BOZ2 ended up 0.70 cent at 76.98 cents per lb, and December soymeal SMZ2 jumped $3.90 to settle at $409.9 per short ton.

  • Solid domestic demand helped underpin CBOT soybeans, analysts said.

  • The monthly U.S. soybean crush rose in October and matched an average of analyst estimates, according to National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) data.

  • Exporters sold 261,272 tonnes of U.S. soy to Mexico, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said.
