Aon, Willis Towers Watson Agree to Sell Set of Willis Towers Watson Assets to Arthur J. Gallagher & Co
09:06 AM EDT, 05/12/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Aon (AON) and Willis Towers Watson (WLTW) said Wednesday they have agreed to sell Willis Re and a set of Willis Towers Watson corporate risk, broking and health and benefits services to Arthur J. Gallagher & Co (AJG) for $3.57 billion.
The deal is contingent on the completion of the pending Aon and Willis Towers Watson combination, which is expected in Q3, the companies said. The completion of this combination is subject to the receipt of required regulatory approvals and clearances, including with respect to US antitrust laws, as well as other customary closing conditions.
The agreement to sell certain assets to Arthur J. Gallagher & Co resolves questions raised by the European Commission and aims to address certain questions raised by regulators in certain other jurisdictions, the companies said.
