Electronic Arts Posts Lower Q4 Results from Year Ago, Sets Guidance -- Stock Down 2% After-Hours
04:18 PM EDT, 05/11/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Electronic Arts (EA) on Tuesday reported a net income of $0.26 per share in Q4, down from $1.43 per share a year earlier, and lagging analyst estimates of $0.31 per share in a Capital IQ survey.
Revenue edged lower to $1.35 billion from $1.39 billion a year ago quarter, shy of the $1.39 billion estimate. Net bookings for fiscal 2021 were $6.190 billion, up 15% year-over-year, and over $600 million above its own expectations.
For the fiscal year 2022, the gaming company expects revenue of about $6.8 billion and a net income of around $1.34 per share. The Street estimates were for EPS of $4.64 per share, which may not be comparable, on revenue of $6.58 billion. It also projects net bookings of about $7.3 billion.
The company kept its quarterly dividend steady at $0.17 per share, payable on June 23, to shareholders of record on June 2.
