Magellan Health Partner Mightier Says Video Game Pilot Program Curbed Aggression in Autistic Children
02:47 PM EDT, 05/11/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Mightier, which teamed up with Magellan Health (MGLN) to develop a video game platform to support the treatment of children with autism, said Tuesday that 81% of the children who played on the platform in combination with applied behavioral analysis showed reduction in aggression, compared with a 55% behavioral improvement using applied behavioral analysis alone.
This reflects a 45% improvement in symptoms for children with autism, according to the company.
Mightier is also working with Magellan to recruit 200 patients with mental health conditions for a two-year National Institute of Mental Health-funded research project to study the effect of Mightier games on children with a broader range of disorders, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety and oppositional defiant disorder.
