Germany's BioNTech Picks Singapore for Southeast Asia HQ, Plans New Manufacturing Facility
03:16 PM EDT, 05/10/2021 (MT Newswires) -- BioNTech SE (BNTX) said Monday it has picked Singapore as its regional headquarters for southeast Asia and plans to set up a manufacturing facility in the city state with support from the Singapore Economic Development Board.
The new facility will provide regional and global supply capacity of its pipeline of mRNA-based product candidates, said the German drug maker, which makes COVID-19 vaccine with Pfizer (PFE).
BioNTech said it plans to open its Singapore office and start construction of the manufacturing facility this year, with operation expected as early as 2023 to create up to 80 jobs in the city state.
