European ADRs Nudge Higher in Monday Trading
11:14 AM EDT, 05/10/2021 (MT Newswires) -- American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.11% higher at 1,144.06 on the S&P/BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Monday.
In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX) and biometrics company IDEX Biometrics (IDBA), which rose 4.9% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Orphazyme (ORPH) and telecommunications operator Telefonica (TEF), which increased 3% and 2.8%.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by hotel booking site trivago (TRVG) and 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS), which dropped 7.5% and 7% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS) and internet advertising firm Criteo (CRTO), which were down 5.7% and 5.3%.
In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by Lloyds Banking Group (LYG) and Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which rose 2.7% and 2% respectively. They were followed by mining company Rio Tinto Group (RIO) and bank Barclays PLC (BCS), which were up 1.9% each.
The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL) and biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma (VRNA), which fell 5.8% and 5.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company MorphoSys (MOR) and medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP), which were down 4.5% and 4.3%.
