Both Nomura and Jarden will continue to operate standalone corporate advisory and capital markets businesses in the said countries, according to a statement.
In a separate release, Nomura said that it is considering forming a joint venture company with The Chiba Bank, Ltd., Daishi Hokuetsu Bank, Ltd. and Chugoku Bank, Ltd. to provide remote financial consulting services.
The proposed joint venture, which would be majority-owned by the Japanese lender subject to discussion, would operate independently and provide paid remote consultations by advisors to help clients build assets long term.
The impact of the planned joint venture company on consolidated financial results has not been determined, according to Nomura.
Business operations are subject to the signing of a final agreement scheduled for Q2 of the 2021 fiscal year, the company added.
