Mario Draghi's prospects of forming a government in Italy were boosted on Saturday when the two largest parties in parliament, the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement and the rightist League, both gave him their conditional backing. nL8N2KC07R
Former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte told a meeting of 5-Star Movement groups late on Sunday he does not want to be part of the government Draghi is seeking to put together, Ansa news said, citing sources present at the meeting.

Treasury announces sale of BTP bonds, with relative amounts to be auctioned on Feb. 11.
Italy's central bank called on Saturday for cohesion as the country battles a government crisis, saying it was imperative to revive growth and reduce a public debt that the coronavirus pandemic has pushed to levels last seen after World War One. nL1N2KC089

S&P said on Friday the bank's 2020 results reinforced the view that Intesa's creditworthiness was supported by its conservative and proactive approach to risk management and the strengths of its business model relative to its domestic peers.

The infrastructure group has extended to Feb. 24 negotiations with a consortium led by state lender CDP over the sale of its motorway unit, as it strives to end a dispute triggered by the collapse of a bridge run by the division. nL8N2KB4V9

The CEO of Banco BPM Giuseppe Castagna met the head of insurer Unipol Carlo Cimbri on Jan 20 to push on talks over a possible tie up of the bank with smaller rival BPER Banca in which Unipol is the largest shareholder, Il Messaggero said on Sunday. But Cimbri and BPER top management are focused first on integrating the branches they secured as part of the UBI-Intesa Sanpaolo merger deal, it said. The paper said Giorgio Girondi, who owns 4% of Banco, had options to buy a further 2% of the bank.

The bank is considering a 500 million euro subordinated bond to replenish its capital ahead of a Feb. 25 board meeting, la Repubblica reported on Saturday.
Four US funds are interested in joining the data room process for the sale of the state's stake in the bank, Il Messaggero said on Sunday. Apollo has already written a letter to the lender's board while Blackstone, Lonestar and Hellman & Friedman have said they plan to look at the numbers, it said.
FERRARI RACE.MI
Luxury carmaker Ferrari will pay its workers in Italy a slightly higher annual efficiency bonus based on 2020 performance despite the impact on the auto industry from the coronavirus pandemic. It said it would pay an additional gross sum of 2,100 euros to bring the total gross value of the award to 7,526 euros per employee. As a result of measures, most employees will receive a bonus increase of 7%, it said.

The Franco-Italian microchip manufacturer is evaluating a potential bid for Germany's Dialog Semiconductor DLGS.DE, Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Saturday citing rumours.
Dialog Semiconductor confirmed on Sunday it was in advanced talks with Renesas Electronics Corporation 6723.T about a potential sale, valuing it at around $6 billion. nL8N2KD0BI
