National Labor Relations Board Denies Amazon's Request to Delay Union Vote in Alabama

· 02/05/2021 09:09

01:58 PM EST, 02/05/2021 (MT Newswires) -- The National Labor Relations Board on Friday has denied Amazon.com's (AMZN) request to postpone a unionization vote at its Bessemer warehouse in Alabama.

"The Employer's Request for Review ... is denied as it raises no substantial issues warranting review," the board in its brief. "The Employer's Motion to Stay the Election Pending Review is also denied as moot."

Last month, Amazon sought the authority to review its earlier decision and consider holding an in-person election. The ruling opens the way for workers at the warehouse to start casting their ballots by mail on Monday next week.
