DJ Dye & Durham to Buy GlobalX for C$166 Million to Expand Australian Business
By Robb M. Stewart
Dye & Durham Ltd. said Friday it has agreed to buy GlobalX Information Pty. Ltd. for about 166 million Canadian dollars (US$129.4 million), bolstering the footprint it has built in Australia.
The provider of cloud-based software and technology for legal and business professionals said the addition of GlobalX will provide synergy opportunities thanks to the crossover of businesses in Australia and the U.K.
Established in 1994, GlobalX has operations in Australia and the U.K. focused on technology solutions and support services for law firms, conveyancers, financial institutions, property planning professionals and government bodies.
In December, Dye & Durham pushed into the Australian market with a roughly C$87 million deal to buy SAI Global Ltd.'s property division, a move it said at time provided a platform in the country for its existing product lines in Canada and the U.K.
Dye & Durham said, similar to its existing Australian business, GlobalX has a large business-to-business customer base to which it provides workflow software, systems and information products to help complete the transfer of property, and other commercial transactions.
