Market research company YouGov surveyed American adults' willingness to wear fashion-forward masks during the coronavirus pandemic.

It isn’t hard to see how masks might become outlets of self-expression. Entertainment and mass media corporations like Disney (NYSE: DIS) are offering non-medical masks across their family of websites.

According to YouGov’s methodology, a fashion-forward mask can be defined as a non-medical mask depicting a pattern or design.

Mask On

The YouGov study showed that 62% of respondents say they’d wear a mask with a plaid, chevron or houndstooth pattern.

Fifty percent of respondents said they'd wear a mask with a humorous design.

In good team spirit, 45% of survey takers would definitely or probably wear a mask sporting their favorite professional sports team's logo and color palette.

A mask design you’re less than likely to see on your next trip out? With the 2020 presidential election coming this fall, only 24% of respondents said they'd wear a mask featuring a political message.
