The Office of the National Health Insurance Administration and the General Department of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine issued a notice on determining pilot regions for dominant diseases of traditional Chinese medicine. According to the requirements of the “Notice on Launching Pilot Work on Payment by Disease Type for Predominant Diseases in Traditional Chinese Medicine”, the National Health Insurance Administration and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine organized experts to select regions reporting pilot payment for dominant diseases in traditional Chinese medicine. Through corresponding procedures, it was determined that 9 provinces including Beijing and Hebei, as well as 9 cities including Tongliao in Inner Mongolia and Shenyang in Liaoning, will be included in the pilot project. Pilot regions that pay for dominant diseases of traditional Chinese medicine according to disease type should further improve the pilot implementation plan, refine work initiatives, clarify time points and division of tasks, regularly summarize the progress and results of the work, actively and steadily advance the pilot work, accumulate a number of traditional Chinese medicine medical insurance payment reform experiences, and gradually promote them throughout the country. If major problems are encountered during the pilot process, they should be promptly fed back.
