On the afternoon of December 6, local time, Samuel Zbogar, Permanent Representative of Slovenia to the United Nations, held a press conference during his visit to Lebanon to reaffirm the Security Council's commitment to support the security and stability of Lebanon and to fully implement resolution 1701. Zbogar explained that during the visit to Lebanon, the delegation held fruitful talks with the President, Speaker of Parliament, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Lebanon. The focus of this visit was to the southern region of Lebanon on the 6th. The delegation visited the Blue Line, the headquarters and outposts of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. The mission also received detailed reports and assessments of the challenges faced by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, particularly as the Security Council decided to end its mandate at the end of next year.
