On December 4, the Chengdu International Railway Port launched a trial train for railway transportation of lithium batteries in Chengdu, marking the beginning of a new model of railway transportation for “Made in Chengdu” power lithium batteries. The train carried lithium batteries produced by China Innovation Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. and sailed to Shanghai on the Chengdu Huatie Special Line of China Railway Eighth Bureau Group Hyundai Logistics Co., Ltd. This test run is also a “dual zone linkage” between Qingbaijiang District and Longquanyi District of Chengdu City. In 2021, China Innovation Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. settled in Longquanyi District, and its power battery installed capacity ranked among the highest in the country. “Products are transported by rail to diversify logistics methods.” The relevant person in charge of the company said that in the past, lithium batteries produced by the company were mainly transported by road. “Railway transportation has greater capacity, higher safety and stability, and lower logistics costs. After normalization, logistics costs are expected to be reduced by 20% to 30%.”
