Ginkgo Pays $40.75M for East Charlotte Apartment Complex

Ginkgo Residential paid $40.75 million for The Kelston, a 310-unit rental community, located at 1207 Kelston Place. Built in 1986, Ginkgo plans to complete a series of capital improvements at the property that includes modernizing unit interiors, enhancing community spaces and renovating on-site amenities.

Ginkgo partnered with Banyan Street Real Estate Funds on the acquisition. The private equity firm is an affiliate of New York commercial real estate firm Banyan Street Capital.The Seller was represented by Cushman & Wakefield’s Paul Marley and Gavin Conlon.

Ginkgo Residential, founded in 2010, specializes in acquiring, renovating and managing high-quality housing while maintaining affordability. The firm owns and operates 8,500 units across 50 multifamily properties in North Carolina and South Carolina.
