BAE Systems, University of Strathclyde Secure UK Grant for New Satellite Navigation System

06:06 AM EST, 12/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- British aerospace and defense group BAE Systems (BA.L) and the University of Strathclyde received 540,000 pounds sterling in funding from the UK Space Agency to develop a new satellite navigation system. The proposed system will be capable of operating without the Global Positioning System, or GPS, by maintaining an agreed time through synchronization, according to a Wednesday release. The grant was awarded under the agency's National Space Innovation Program, which supports the development and commercialization of advanced space technologies.
