Citigroup has hired Kaustubh Kulkarni as head of investment banking in Asia, and the company is seeking to seize strong trading business in the Asian region. According to a memorandum seen by the media, Kulkarni will join Citigroup in December as the co-head of investment banking business in Japan, North Asia, Australia and South Asia, and work with Jan Metzger. He has been with J.P. Morgan Chase for 28 years and recently served as India Business Executive and Asia Pacific Vice Chairman. Kulkarni previously served as Co-Head of Investment Banking in Southeast Asia.
