Roche (RHHBY.US) increases the development of pre-clinical oral small molecules in the IBD field with US$400 million

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on September 2, OMass Therapeutics announced that it had reached an exclusive cooperation and licensing agreement with Genentech (Genentech), a member of the Roche Group (RHHBY.US), authorizing the latter to develop and commercialize OMass's preclinical oral small molecule program for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). OMass is a biotechnology company that develops drugs for highly proven target ecosystems such as membrane proteins or intracellular complexes.

Under the terms of the agreement, OMass will receive an initial payment of $20 million, in addition to potential pre-clinical, development, commercial and net sales milestone payments of more than $400 million. OMass is also eligible for tiered royalties based on net sales. Under this partnership, OMass will lead the initial pre-clinical development of the project until candidate compounds are selected. Genentech will be responsible for clinical development, registration, production and commercialization activities.
