On September 2, at the launch ceremony of the 2025 Shanghai Yangpu District Food Safety Awareness Week, the “Shanghai “Safe Takeout” Food Safety White Paper, prepared by the Shanghai Food Safety Federation and the Yangpu District Market Supervision Administration and co-prepared by the Digital Economics Research Institute of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Meituan, was officially released. The white paper shows that “no dine-in” is not necessarily related to “ghost takeout,” and nearly a quarter of the surveyed users are willing to accept “independent takeout franchise stores.”
