Since this year, the Shanghai Public Security Traffic Management Department has pioneered a “traffic safety code” for takeout and courier riders, using the three colors “green, yellow, and red” as safety level marks, and urged riders, stations, and platform companies to pay attention to traffic safety through measures such as restrictions on order acceptance and performance assessments. The Shanghai Public Security Traffic Management Department has developed the “Express Takeout Industry Non-Motor Vehicle Traffic Safety Management Information System” to connect all data on traffic violations and accidents related to express delivery takeout riders and vehicles throughout the city to the platform for supervision, and the data is updated daily. If multiple offenses have not been dealt with, or if a special electronic license plate is not bound to be used, the rider will be shown a red code, and the platform company will automatically ban them from taking orders online. Since this management measure was piloted in April this year, the Shanghai traffic management department has investigated and dealt with a total of 203 sites and 13 enterprises.
