On July 2, Xu Dachun, Vice Minister of Natural Resources and Director of the China Geological Survey, met with Viktor Galanov, Vice Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus, and his entourage in Beijing to have in-depth exchanges on further promoting practical cooperation in the field of geology and mining between China and Belarus. Xu Dachun suggested that the two departments sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation as soon as possible to continue strengthening cooperation in basic geological research, geological mapping, geological information and database construction, hydraulic ring geology and geological disaster prevention; make good use of platforms such as the China International Mining Conference and the China-Belarus Geoscience Joint Research Center to jointly enhance the capacity and level of sustainable development of the geoscience service region; strengthen technical exchanges and talent training in the field of comprehensive utilization of mineral resources, and cooperate to carry out mineral processing demonstration projects to promote the green and low-carbon development of the two countries' mining industries. Galanov agreed with the Chinese proposal, hoping to draw on China's advanced experience and technology to promote comprehensive utilization of mineral resources in Belarus.
