Under the impetus of the Shanghai Market Supervisory Authority, representatives of 5 direct sales companies in Shanghai and 5 Internet platform companies jointly signed the “Memorandum of Cooperation”. The Memorandum of Cooperation mainly includes three aspects, namely: maintaining “Shanghai” authenticity, protecting consumers' rights and interests, and opposing “low price internal” competition in the field of direct sales. The two sides explore in-depth commercial cooperation methods with a view to reaching a win-win situation where both parties benefit. The Shanghai Market Supervisory Authority revealed that currently, under the guidance of the city's market supervision department, 277 illegal e-commerce stores involving “direct sales of black products” have been shut down, and 4,970 product links have been removed, cracking down on “direct sales of black products” at the level of internal compliance of e-commerce platforms and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of direct sales companies.
