On July 2, the Ministry of Education held an education evaluation reform pilot deployment promotion meeting in Changsha City, Hunan Province, to thoroughly implement the “Outline Plan for Building a Strong Education Country” and a three-year action plan, and comprehensively deploy the “Education Evaluation Reform Pilot” of the three-year action plan for deepening education evaluation reform in the new era in accordance with the requirements of the “Overall Plan for Deepening Education Evaluation Reform in the New Era”. The conference emphasized the need to keep an eye on goals, combine points, and implement the pilot tasks of education evaluation reform in a solid manner. The provincial co-ordinated pilot should focus on the evaluation reform of the five categories of subjects of local party committees and governments, schools, students, teachers and employers, guide the establishment of a correct view of education and political performance, improve the evaluation standard system for schools with Chinese characteristics, improve and effectively guide students to develop and evaluate the overall development of students, establish an institutional environment conducive to teachers to concentrate on educating people and studying quietly, and guide society to establish a scientific concept of educating people and selecting and employing people. The key breakthrough pilot should focus on pioneering breakthroughs in the five directions of detailed implementation of the “Four Quality Guidelines” for basic education, evaluation of the quality of college student training, peer review mechanisms and representative achievement evaluation systems, evaluation incentives for the economic and social development of colleges and universities serving regions, and artificial intelligence enabling evaluation reforms.
