The Zhitong Finance App learned that on June 10, the Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government published the results of a monthly statistical survey on the business conditions of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in May 2025. The current trend index of SME business income rose from 41.2 in the contracted region in April 2025 to 42.1 in May 2025, while the business earnings outlook index for the next month (i.e. June 2025) is 45.4. According to industry analysis, although the current business revenue trend index is below the 50 dividing line, the relevant indices for many industries covered by the survey increased in May 2025 compared to the previous month, particularly the import and export trade industry (from 40.2 to 41.9) and the wholesale industry (from 40.0 to 41.5).
