Recently, Professor Zeng Jie's team from Anhui University of Technology collaborated with Tsubaki Fanli's team at Toyama University in Japan to develop a novel “metal oxide-zeolite” composite catalyst. Based on a multi-step tandem catalytic process, they successfully directly synthesized p-xylene using carbon dioxide and hydrogen as raw materials, and set a world record for single-pass spatio-temporal yield. On June 10, Beijing time, the international academic journal “Journal of the American Chemical Society” published this result.
