The 3rd UN Ocean Conference, co-hosted by France and Costa Rica, opened on the 9th in Nice, France. Representatives from various sectors, including governments, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector, gathered here to discuss global ocean governance. The conference was guided by the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goal 14. The overall theme was “Accelerate Action to Mobilize All Actors to Protect and Sustainably Use the Ocean”.
