The reporter learned today from the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the Institute's Neural Computation and Brain-Computer Interaction Research Group and a joint team from the Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligent Technology Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences combined behavioral experiments and neuroimaging analysis to confirm for the first time that a multi-modal big language model can spontaneously form an object concept representation system highly similar to humans. This study not only opens up a new path for artificial intelligence cognitive science, but also provides a theoretical framework for constructing artificial intelligence systems with human-like cognitive structures. The relevant research results were published in the international academic journal “Nature · Machine Intelligence” on June 9, Beijing time.
