Hong Kong Stock Exchange: The average daily turnover of Hong Kong stocks in April was HK$274.7 billion, up about 1.5 times year-on-year

The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to statistics from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the total market value of the Hong Kong stock market was HK$38.8 trillion as of the end of April, up 21% from HK$32.1 trillion in the same period last year. The average daily turnover of the Hong Kong stock market in April was HK$274.7 billion, up 145% from HK$112.3 billion in the same period last year. The average daily turnover for the first four months of 2025 was HK$25.4 billion, up 144% from HK$102.5 billion in the same period last year.

According to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, in the first four months of this year, Hong Kong welcomed 19 newly listed companies (including 1 listed company transferred from GEM to the main board and 1 merger and acquisition transaction for a special purpose acquisition company), up 27% from 15 in the same period last year.

The amount of initial public offering (IPO) capital raised in the first four months (that is, by offering securities for subscription, existing securities and securities for placement) was HK$21.3 billion, up 170% from HK$7.9 billion in the same period last year.

The total amount of capital raised in the first four months of 2025 was approximately HK$171 billion, up 335% from HK$39.3 billion in the same period last year.
