On May 7, China's advanced nuclear power base, Huaneng Shidaowan Nuclear Power Base Expansion Project, began construction of Unit 2, marking that the project has entered the full construction stage. The Huaneng Shidaowan Nuclear Power Plant is the first large-scale nuclear power plant in China to simultaneously apply three- and fourth-generation autonomous nuclear power technology. The first phase of the expansion project includes Units 1 and 2. Construction of Unit 1 commenced in July 2024.
