On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the 9th Sino-Vietnamese border defense friendship exchange event was held on April 11 at relevant regions and ports in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Vietnam's Lang Son Province. The border defense friendship exchange event is a concrete measure to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and China. It was first held in 2014 and played a positive role in maintaining the security, stability, prosperity and development of the border area between the two countries. Compared with the past, the time span of this event was extended to one week, and the event schedule was richer, including free joint consultations for medical personnel of the two armies, joint patrols of the Beibu Gulf between the two countries' navies, and cultural exchanges between border residents of the two countries.
