According to the relevant provisions of the “Flood Control Law of the People's Republic of China”, “Flood Control Regulations of the People's Republic of China” and “Drought Relief Regulations of the People's Republic of China”, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters recently announced the list of people responsible for flood control and drought relief in 2025 in large rivers, large and medium-sized flood control areas, key flood control cities, flood control along the south-to-north water diversion line and those responsible for typhoon prevention in coastal areas, which are subject to social supervision. A total of 2,792 people were reported to be responsible for flood control and drought relief. Among them, Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, and Xinjiang are responsible for flood control and drought relief throughout the province. The Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps has commanders as those responsible for flood control and drought relief, an increase of 2 over 2022. In addition, in 287 of the country's 333 prefecture-level administrative districts, comrades in charge of party and government are responsible for flood control and drought relief, an increase of 16 over 2024.
