On March 12, the first batch of 52.8 megawatt power generation units of Huadian Xinneng Hongyuan Anqu Phase I PV Project was successfully connected to the grid, marking the official commissioning of the first grid-based energy storage photovoltaic power plant in Sichuan. Huadian Xinneng Hongyuan Anqu Phase I PV Project is located in Hongyuan County, Aba Prefecture. The project is over 4,000 meters above sea level, has a total installed capacity of 250 megawatts, built 76 photovoltaic array areas, and installed 450,000 photovoltaic panels. The supporting 50 MW/100 MW lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system can charge or discharge 100,000 kilowatt-hours within 2 hours. After the full capacity of the project is put into operation, the annual power generation will reach 450 million kilowatt-hours, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 400,000 tons per year, which is equivalent to planting nearly 20 million trees.
