A US judge has ordered Elon Musk and his administration's efficiency department to submit various records and answer questions to explain their efforts to cut federal spending. US District Judge Tanya Chatcan in Washington DC handed down this ruling on Wednesday evening. The case stemmed from lawsuits brought by 14 Democratic state attorneys general against Musk, DOGE, and Trump. These states believe that Musk violated the Constitution by exercising powers that only officials confirmed by the US Congress can exercise under the “Terms of Appointment”. The plaintiffs also requested materials from Musk through a process called “disclosure of evidence.”
