A Hong Kong government spokesman said that the overall business climate and employment situation of SMEs weakened in February. However, their overall expectations for business conditions in the coming month have improved.

The spokesperson added that on the one hand, uncertainty in the surrounding environment will continue to have a negative impact on the business environment, but on the other hand, it is expected that the global financial situation will ease, the country has introduced a number of measures to boost the mainland economy, and the SAR government actively promotes economic development, and support should be provided. The Government will closely monitor the situation.
