A winter storm is expected to hit Texas and other states later this week, casting the shadow of the American South once again falling into large-scale power outages and traffic chaos. Peter Mullinax of the US Weather Forecast Center said that southern Oklahoma and Texas, including Dallas, will fall about 4 to 6 inches of snow and ice, covering trees, roads, and power lines from San Antonio to northern Louisiana. Mullinax believes the storm “will be extremely destructive and will generate a large amount of snow and ice.” The cold tide will begin to converge Wednesday night, and after strengthening on Thursday, it will move east and sweep across the south on Friday.
