Research shows that sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia are the regions where HIV incidence and death rates have dropped the most. From 2010 to 2021, the incidence of AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa fell by 35% and the death rate by 43.2%; in South Asia, the HIV incidence rate fell by 35.4% and the death rate by 61.6%.
