According to reports, Baidu's driverless online car-hailing platform “Radish Run” is scheduled to be put into trial operation in Hong Kong, and the first phase of testing will be carried out at the airport as soon as the end of this year. The Transport Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government confirmed that Baidu submitted applications for pilot autonomous driving test licences and automatic vehicle certificates last month. According to Baidu's latest financial report, the number of orders for autonomous driving for Radish Express in the third quarter of 2024 was 988,000, an increase of 20% over the previous year. Furthermore, in the third quarter of 2024, Radish Express accounted for more than 70% of the total number of driverless units in the country. In October 2024, the proportion of fully driverless units increased further to 80%.
