On October 25, while attending the World Bank/International Monetary Fund annual meeting in Washington, China's Vice Minister of Finance, Liao Min, co-hosted the 6th meeting of the Sino-US Economic Working Group with US Vice Secretary of the Treasury Shang Bo. The two sides had in-depth, practical and constructive communication on topics such as the macroeconomic situation and policies of the two countries, dealing with global challenges, including joint cooperation to help low-income countries deal with liquidity challenges, and next steps in communication arrangements. The Chinese side focused on announcing the current macroeconomic situation in China and the package of incremental policies being introduced recently, and expressed concern over measures such as the imposition of tariffs by the US on China and sanctions involving Russia. After the meeting, Vice Minister Liao Min held ceremonial talks with US Treasury Secretary Yellen.
