WHO Regional Director for Africa Macidiso Muti said on social media on the 15th that this breakthrough clinical trial is testing the safety and efficacy of two drugs: one is the antiviral remdesivir, and the other is an MBP091 antibody developed specifically for the Marburg virus. The Ministry of Health of Rwanda announced an outbreak of Marburg virus in the country on September 27. According to the Ministry of Health's latest data, as of October 15, 62 cases of Marburg virus disease have been confirmed in Rwanda, of which 15 patients died and 30 patients have recovered. The country's health department warned that people with related symptoms should promptly seek medical treatment at a nearby medical institution.
