The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Li Jiachao, said today that the SAR government will fund comprehensive social security assistance for the elderly to stay in homes for the elderly in Guangdong Province, and launch a three-year trial plan next year to fund CSSA recipients who choose to retire in Guangdong to stay in designated residential homes in Guangdong. Each eligible elderly person can receive a monthly subsidy of HK$5,000, for a total of 1,000 places.
