According to people familiar with the matter, Japanese video game publisher Bandai Namco Holdings is laying off workers after canceling several businesses due to low demand. People familiar with the matter say the Tokyo-based company is using traditional Japanese layoffs, arranging employees in rooms with nothing to do to put pressure on them to leave voluntarily. Since April, the company has moved about 200 of its 1,300 employees to these rooms, and nearly 100 have quit their jobs.
