According to an announcement from the Korea Financial Supervisory Service on October 14, South Korean instant noodle manufacturer Nongshim plans to build a new instant noodle factory in the country to strengthen its global supply capacity and enter the European market. Nongshim will invest 191.8 billion won to establish a new factory dedicated to exports at the Yusan National Industrial Complex in Gangseo-gu, Busan. It is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026 and put into operation by the end of the year. Nongshim once again built a factory in Korea after a lapse of 17 years to meet the growing demand for K-food driven by K-pop culture. Data show that from January to September of this year, South Korea's instant noodle exports to Europe reached 153 million US dollars, an increase of 49.8% over the previous year, reaching a record high.
