Roughly 2.7 million without power in US southeast after Hurricane Helene, down 40% from peak

- Roughly 2.7 million customers in the southeastern U.S. remained without power in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, down 40% from a peak of 4.6 million customers on Friday, a U.S. Energy Department official said on a call with reporters on Sunday.
