Yesterday at around 10 a.m., the Shenzhen ship docked at the Shenzhen Shekou Cruise Home Port Wharf. A red banner saying “The Shenzhen Navy says hello to our hometown and people” is hanging on the ship. There are quite a few citizens waving their national flags on the shore to welcome the Navy officers and soldiers aboard the Shenzhen ship to “go home.” The Shenzhen ship was the first battleship developed entirely independently by China, and was officially added to the list in 1998. To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Shenzhen Navy will hold an open ship day on October 1 and 2.
