The 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Green Finance Alliance Annual Meeting was held recently. Lai Zhihong, deputy mayor of the Guangzhou Municipal Government, deputy director of the Finance Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, director of the Finance Office of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and secretary of the Financial Engineering Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, said that by the end of the first half of 2024, Guangzhou's green loan balance was 1.23 trillion yuan, accounting for more than 15% of the city's various loans. Various types of green bonds have been issued at home and abroad, equivalent to nearly RMB 200 billion; industrial silicon and lithium carbonate futures and options were listed on the Guangzhou Futures Exchange, with a total turnover of 180 million lots and a cumulative turnover of 12.9 trillion yuan by the end of August 2024; Guangzhou Carbon Emissions Trading Center's carbon quota spot turnover exceeded 300 million tons, with a turnover of 7.257 billion yuan.
