Post Lake Capital Partners and Trube Corp. are seeking permission from a San Antonio planning agency to build a 10-story apartment building and a three-story retail building side-by-side facing East Market Street, ground zero for the Hemisfair. Work on the 2.4-acre site—split between two parcels known as D1 and D2—is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024. The project will be on land where the 1968 World’s Fair was held.

The design firm attached, Chicago-based FitzGerald Associates Architects, filed for review with the Historic Design Review Committee this week. The agency is expected to take the matter up next month.

The tower is slated to have 304 residential units, a nine-level parking garage and ground-level retail. The adjacent three-story structure will have food and beverage tenants on the river level and ground level, with the top floor serving as a mechanical penthouse.
