US Cash Grains-Corn, soybean basis bids stay mostly steady

- Grain elevators and processors kept spot basis bids for corn and soybeans mostly unchanged across the U.S. Midwest on Friday, dealers said.

* Some farmers have been selling old-crop corn ahead of end-of-month deadlines for storage and delayed pricing programs at elevators, brokers said. The marketing year starts on Sept. 1 for corn and soybeans.

* Forward sales of -crop corn by farmers remain slow due to low prices, a broker said.

* Some locations have rolled their corn basis to the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) December CZ24 futures contract as the September contract CU24 its delivery phase and Sept. 13 expiration.

* The soy basis fell by 5 cents a bushel Davenport, Iowa, on the Mississippi River, and was flat elsewhere.

* The U.S. soy crush likely rose in July to 5.765 million short tons, or 192.135 million bushels, which would be up 4% from a year earlier, analysts said ahead of a monthly U.S. Department of Agriculture report due on Tuesday.

* Brokers are monitoring the start of soybean harvesting in the Delta region amid expectations for record U.S. output.

* USDA is slated to issue an update on soy and corn condition ratings in a weekly crop report on Tuesday, one day later than due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday.

* CBOT agricultural markets will be closed on Monday for the holiday.
