What does "Buying power is insufficient" mean?
What does "Buying power is insufficient" mean?

This means you do not have enough buying power. Here are some common reasons as to why:

1) You have an existing open order locking down buying power:

In order to gain back buying power, please cancel your open order.

Step 1: Go to the “Home” tab

Step 2: Tap on the "Orders” button next to “P&L”

Step 3: Tap the open order you want to cancel

Step 4: Tap on “Cancel” to remove the order

2) No open order:

You have insufficient buying power to cover the order amount. For example, assume you have $8,000 in day-trade buying power (this takes into account 4 times leverage based off your settled cash as well as the partial market value of your current positions), and you wish to purchase $6,000 worth of stock A or of stock B. You may be able to execute depending on the specific maintenance requirements of a stock. If the maintenance requirement of stock A is 25% (4 times) and that of stock B is 100% (no leverage), you will be able to purchase $6,000 of stock A (up to $8,000), or only $2,000 of stock B ($8,000/4=$2,000). Thankfully, Webull’s order page displays the maximum amount of shares you can purchase.
