Why my account was charged for ADR fees?

If a stock is issued overseas (non-US) and is traded in US through ADR, the ADR depositary bank will charge ADR fees. ADR Fees are custody fees, sometimes referred to as Depositary Services Fees, to compensate the depositary banks for inventorying the non-U.S. shares and performing registration, compliance, dividend payment, communication, and record keeping services.

ADR fees generally range from $0.01 - $0.03 per share, the amount and timing differ by ADR. Please refer to your ADR prospectus for specific information. Search for the prospectus with the SEC's EDGAR Company Search.
